110°C Operating Temperature
WEICO's SAW series is a thin wall tubing offering the advantages of an adhesive-lined construction. This flame retardant, flexible polyolefin is lined with a layer of special thermoplastic adhesive. When heated in excess of 121°C, SAW tubing shrinks and conforms to the unit to be covered, while the inner wall of adhesive melts and flows to provide a moisture and corrosion resistant seal. The adhesive forms a flexible bond with a wide variety of rubbers, plastics and metals. Upon cooling, the adhesive solidifies, forming a permanent, non-drying, flexible and waterproof barrier. The SAW multiple wall tubing is ideally suited for applications where moisture protection of wire splices or bundling of wires is required.
SAW Polyolefin tubing has a 2:1 shrink ratio. When freely recovered, the tubing will shrink to 50% of its supplied diameter. SAW tubing meets MIL-I-23053/4 class 2. SAW tubing is rated for continuous operation from -55°C to +115°C.
